Gigi Hadid's viral vodka pasta
To kick things off, we'll dive into the viral TikTok sensation, Gigi Hadid's famous vodka pasta.
This recipe is perfect for beginners like me! I've seen this viral pasta all over my TikTok 'For You' page, and I'm sure you have too. This recipe took me about an hour, but for more experienced cooks, it should take around 30 minutes.
Method
I began by dicing a white onion and two small cloves of garlic. It's best to have everything prepped beforehand so you can dive right in when you're ready to cook. While you're doing this, go ahead and boil the kettle so you can get the pasta cooking right away.
Once your veggies are prepped, heat some oil in a pan on low. Add the chicken and cook until it turns white. Then, toss in the onion and garlic, cooking until they soften.
Next, add the tomato paste and let it simmer until it deepens into a rich red color—this step is key to building flavor, so don't rush it.
After the tomato paste has cooked, add in the double cream, then the vodka. It is important to let the vodka simmer for a few minutes to cook off the alcohol and allow the cream to evaporate slightly.
Next, add the chili flakes, I opted for a bit more than the recipe calls for to amp up the flavor. Don’t forget to season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep stirring until everything is well combined, and once satisfied remove the sauce from the heat.
Check on the pasta as it cooks, and don’t forget to reserve some of the pasta water before draining—it’s perfect for adding to the sauce later.
Drain the cooked pasta, then add it to the sauce along with a bit of the reserved pasta water. Stir everything together until well coated.
Finish with a generous sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, and voilà—your delicious vodka pasta is ready to enjoy!
I made this dish for my family, and they seemed to love it—though they might be a little biased! I’m excited to keep trying new recipes for them each week and slowly become a literal chef in the making!
As a student, it's essential for me to eat nutritional meals
and stay on budget. This recipe ended up costing me £7.62 for the items I
didn't already have, and I bought everything from Tesco, making sure to select
the most cost-effective choices or take advantage of the best deals using my Clubcard.
Fortunately, I had some extra vodka, so I didn't have to purchase it!
I’ve attached a TikTok of me making the pasta from start to
finish—hope you enjoy watching! If you try the recipe, feel free to leave a
comment and let me know how it goes! I’ve also linked a similar recipe to the
one I followed, which I'll include below.
